The aim of this program is to create and expand the platform that will help train psychologist to address challenges of their clinical work in early days of their professional practice to carry out better patient care.

Our Programs
1. University Placement Opportunities
We host placement programs for psychology students at Master’s level to complete their educational requirement. We collaborate with universities to provide psychology students with structured placement opportunities, integrating real-world clinical exposure into their academic curriculum.
- Supervised practical exposure in a mental health clinic

2. Internship Program for Psychologists
We conduct Internship program for recent psychology graduates to give them an opportunity for clinical development and personal growth before they embark on their professional journey to become successful therapists.
- Supervised Clinical Training – Work with experienced professionals
- Conducting psychological assessments & psychometric evaluations
- Providing supervised individual therapy & counseling
- Participating in group therapy & addiction treatment programs

3. Workshops & Guest Lectures
We offer an array of hands-on workshops and guest lectures aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills in the field of mental health. These programs are designed for both emerging professionals and students.
- Workshops: Practical, skill-building sessions on key therapeutic techniques and mental health issues, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Training
Trauma-Informed Care & PTSD Treatment
Addiction Recovery Strategies & Relapse Prevention
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - Guest Lectures: Attend talks and seminars from renowned experts in mental health, covering the latest research, treatment methodologies, and innovations in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
- In-Person & Virtual Formats: Attend workshops and lectures either at our clinic or from the comfort of your home.
- Certificates Provided: Upon completion of workshops and seminars, participants receive certificates of attendance for professional development.

Essential Requirements for our Clinical Placement/Internship Programs:
- You must be undergoing a psychology diploma/degree at Master’s level or above/have finished your Master’s degree and are looking to gain clinical hours/experience.
- You would require a letter from your institution prior to starting your clinical placement.
- You are able to commit for at least three months with Abdus Sami Psychiatric Clinic.
- You are able to commit to at least 5 clinical hours 3-4 days per week, with the opportunity for more hours, based on your progression.
- You must be able to attend your clinical placement in person [we do not offer remote placements].
- You must be familiar with the ethical code of conduct and framework and adhere to the standards of practice.

Once your application has been received, our Director of Education and Training will review your application. If your application has been successful, you will be invited to attend an interview with us in-person or via Zoom. Upon completion of your interview, we will be in touch with you within two weeks to let you know the outcome.
