Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) was initially designed to help individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD), focusing on emotional  dysregulation,  self-harm and enhance relationships. DBT uses techniques from CBT while integrating mindfulness practices that help you stay grounded in the present moment.  The four key components of DBT—mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness—are designed to help you manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors and improve your relationship with others
